MS182 HM - Introduction to Video Art

Mayeri. This course is an introduction to video art through history, theory, analysis and production. The goal for this class is for students to produce meaningful, creative, expressive, innovative media for an intelligent and broad audience. In order to achieve this goal students will learn the fundamentals of video production in labs, critiques, and exercises: conceptualizing, planning, shooting, sound recording, editing and analysis. Students will also learn - through readings and discussions - about pioneers and contemporary practitioners of video art. $75 course fee.
