CLES122 HM - Prototyping Climate Tech Futures Credit(s): 1.5
Instructor(s): Kirabo
Offered: Spring
Description: Climate data, strategies and interventions are often developed and presented in ways that are inaccessible to disabled populations. In this course, students will use computing technologies to build an accessible climate tech intervention. Students will be given a list of specifications from a speculative just future and their task will be to create a ‘technology’ using any or all of the following: software/programming or tangible material interactions using laser cutting, 3D printers, etc. This course will foster creative interpretation of just technology futures, provide knowledge needed to implement tech specifications and give an understanding on the nuance of disability.
Prerequisite(s): Juniors and seniors only. CSCI060 HM
