Description: Environmental protection and conservation have become central issues to countries around the world. Emerging economies and global economic growth have put strains on natural resources and the environment. This course focuses on the role of economics in analyzing and solving environmental issues. We will use models to analyze underlying economic and policy structures, and then apply them to a wide variety of environmental topics. By the end of this course, students should be able to use an economic framework to analyze environmental problems and policies, and should understand a variety of environmental issues from an economic lens.
Prerequisite(s): ECON054 HM or an equivalent course in Microeconomics. HSA Course Area(s): Economics
